Lesson 5 – So What Do You Want

How exciting is it to be in control of your life and actions? Today we will continue to develop the NEW YOU! As you continue on your journey, utilize the previous lessons to build one upon the other.

In today’s lesson, we are looking at the ability to identify what you desire. By identifying what you desire you can focus your attention on “What You Want”.

Every thought you have is either negative or positive. What a remarkable statement!

Think about that for a second. Every word you SAY or THINK is either NEGATIVE or POSITIVE!

Which are you doing at all times? Today you are going to learn how to make “What you want” match your thoughts!

It is vital to your success to briefly observe the negative thoughts you have and identify them as something you don’t want. By doing so, you become clearer about “WHAT YOU DO WANT”(POSITIVE THOUGHTS). Observing this contrast is essential because it helps you become clear about what you do want. You are experiencing clarity when ever you observe contrast in your life. These are small steps, which will put your journey on the right path.

A wise man once said “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. Knowing this to be true you are taking your first steps today. You are now charting your course and your destiny will be assured.

Instead of saying what you don’t want; make the decision today, to say, “What do I want”.

Exercise:

First thing we need to do is take a minute and write down all of the things where you feel unsatisfied. Utilize the spaces provided below.

Examples: I can’t close a sale, I don’t have enough money, I wish I was in better shape, I don’t have enough time.

Now, on the other side of the page, replace your negative statement with a positive statement?

Negative Positive

1. _________________________ ____________________________

2._________________________ ____________________________

3._________________________ ____________________________

4._________________________ ____________________________

5._________________________ ____________________________

6._________________________ ____________________________

7._________________________ _________________________________

8._________________________ _________________________________

By doing these exercises you will build the confidence to create the results you desire!

Hello Dean
Thank you for the STEPS! Two points in particular have resonated within me. The first is the need to change your thinking. I can say that has been a long journey for me. After a number of poor decisions I made previously, I lacked confidence to step out bravely. It was a continuing test to my determination to seek new avenues and do things differently. I had been using my status as a single parent with two kids to avoid pushing beyond the comfort zone. I have involved myself in a number of supportive networks that have given me a safe environment to rediscover my wings. I know have a stronger amd more confident approach to shaping my own future.

The second point is 'smiling'. I have to say that in all interactions I can't help but smile. Strangers do often look at me suspiciously - I just smile wider! I have found that all my dealings in the business world have been made easier because I always seek a(n) harmonious result - success has many colours. [The reason for the (n) I am a wordsmith and an is technically correct but awkward!]

Once again thank you!

Cheers

Lesson 6 - Create Your Results, Create Your Future!

Today, we are going to look at one of the most important parts, if not the most important part, of the process.

Today you will determine YOUR WHY.

We are going to give you a template to create your mission statement and help you find your why.

The purpose of finding YOUR WHY is to create a passionate, direct reason for you to accomplish what ever you are looking to achieve in your life.

You may have a lot a different "whys" and your direction may change. If your mission is to create wealth to take care of your family, what is your "Why"? Your "Why" is your family.

In order to create a mission statement that is on purpose and true to your desires, your reason for accomplishing your mission must be bigger than you.

Make no mistake you will stumble and may even fall, but knowing your "why" will give you the strength to get up, stand tall, and continue on your journey.

You have already made changes in your life that will last forever; today you will insert the final piece- YOUR MISSION STATEMENT.

By knowing and standing by your mission statement, you control your results. Hold fast to your dreams and stay the course.

To achieve the results you desire it is not necessary you enjoy the process. It is only important that you continue the process with your eyes on the outcome. An athlete does not enjoy the pain of training; and athlete enjoys the results of having trained. You must focus on the results. Create your results now, create your future today!

Remember, average people compare themselves to other people. That is why they are average. You only need to compare yourself to your potential!. You are not average. Any adversity is only preparation for greatness.

Exercise:

"Success or failure as a human being is not a matter of luck, circumstances, fate, or any of the other tiresome old clichés. Those are only excuses. The power to achieve the life of your dreams is in your hands--and the first step toward activating it is identifying the specific goals that will make your dreams real. After all, it's much easier to get what you want out of life when you know where you're going."
-Nightingale.com

We have attached a link for a template to help you create YOUR mission statement. You may have multiple mission statements, 1 for business, 1 for personal, 1 for physical, or any other area in your life you feel a purpose for change.

Process of building you mission statement:

List 5 positive characteristics that define you and an action to describe each.

1. _____________________________________________

2. _____________________________________________

3. _____________________________________________

4. _____________________________________________

5. _____________________________________________

Enter 5 personal and/or professional goals and 1 financial goal you would like to accomplish by one year from today.

1. _____________________________________________

2. _____________________________________________

3. _____________________________________________

4. _____________________________________________

5. _____________________________________________

Financial goal

Lesson 7 - Summary and Final Step

Welcome to the final day of your e-course congratulations on making the investment in yourself. By completing this course you have made a commitment to excellence.

Summary

Let's discuss for few minutes the decisions that we have made over the past 6 days and review how to continue your success.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE RESULTS YOU ARE GETTING, THE TIME TO CHANGE IS NOW!

So if you are not getting the results that you desire, you must go back to the simple formula and change your thoughts.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY

When you start to take responsibility for yourself, your life, and your situation, you can begin the journey to your future.

YOUR ACTION CREATES YOUR RESULTS

As of today, you are a person of action ready to create a new future by creating a new you.

HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE

Remember happiness is a choice! You can determine each moment of each day, whether you want to be happy or not.

"People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, they will never forget how you made them feel.

-Maya Angelou

SO, WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Instead of saying what you don't want; make the decision today, to say, "What do I want".

CREATE YOUR RESULTS, CREATE YOUR FUTURE!

The purpose of finding YOUR WHY is to create a passionate, direct reason for you to accomplish what ever you are looking to achieve in your life.

You have already made changes in your life that will last forever; today you will insert the final piece- YOUR MISSION STATEMENT.

The Final Step

If this 7 day E-Course has resonated with you and is in alignment with your core values and you have:

1. Discovered a new you?

2. Seen your life changing?

And want even more for your life. Now is the time to take ACTION and continue on your journey!

Now that you have decided to keep exploring on how to become a better you, you can do this in a variety of ways. You can keep searching for the things you hold true and ask yourself these questions.

Are you excited about exploring new opportunities?

Have the changes you made created an urgency to continue on your new path?

You can utilize this to create ultimate wealth for you and your family?

Can you see yourself helping others find the same greatness you have found in yourself?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then its time to make your ultimate decision. What ever action you decide is best for you, TAKE ACTION NOW!

You've made it happen!

Thank you again Dean! I needed to hear again how important my WHY is!
It is the only thing that directs me and makes me get up after the inevitable stumbles.
It is a thrill to explore it again!

Thank you

Cheers F :)

Well, we did not have too many writing in the blog this week, but the number of readers is impressive! This is nearly a record for the first week for any expert writing here - well done! I will be using your summary in my blog (if that is OK with you Dean?). Your blog and website are very interesting too. There are so many good points, it is hard for me to pick the best. I really loved all of your quotes, like:-
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.
"...average people compare themselves to other people. That is why they are average. You only need to compare yourself to your potential!"

I absolutely love the last one!

Thanks so much for making this week so full of thought provoking messages and ideas. I really did enjoy your posts. I hope that you may still find time to respond to any latecomers who may leave a message - you should receive automatic notification of any comments being left.

Hello Dean

I have been reading your posts with interest. You make it all sound so easy, when in fact we can make ourselves sick over deciding on a major change in our lives. I used to. I think we have been programmed since early childhood to comply with the accepted "norm" of society. Free thinkers were branded as radicals and hairbrains. It's hard to shake off those shackles. We are all looking for a "template for success" to follow and there are thousands out there willing to sell you the secret to success, whether it be in your personal life or in business.

I was one of those until I met my wife Barbara. She is a true free thinker as she grew up in the bush, without any peers. Her eductaion was done by correspondence and her learning by experience. I was an accountant by profession (go on.....booooring!) so I was trained to be a sceptic. It has taken me a long time to break free of that shackle, but I did - and what a difference it (she) made to my life. I can honestly say that I owe this not to my own internal decision making process, but to my wife and her influence on me. She is a living dynamo of positive thinking. So it is important to me to be around people who are positive in their outlook as it seems to rub off on me.
