Thank you for writing in! And yes, I agree it would be super-difficult to ask if your clients want to expand the scope of work across people! And I can say this from a personal pov, having delivered 2 eulogies this year :) But it might be possible to expand the scope of work throughout the years...

I really like your idea of following up a year later with the memorial service. I wonder if it can be extended to an annual event each year, or even a virtual memorial by Skype or gotowebinar or google+ for those who can't travel. It might not work for the very oldest generation, but it could be a neat idea for the younger ones up to boomers and beyond. If this idea appeals to you, or you've considered it before and think it's worth exploring further, I would suggest sending out a surveymonkey request to your existing client base and asking if this is something they'd be interested in. You'll be able to gauge viability immediately!

Ah Robyn - Pete and I had a good chuckle - yes, your type of work does not quite fit the bill (so to speak). However, the fact that you have written and published books on grief for youngsters is a marvelous way to not only help families with the difficult problem of explaining the loss to a small child, but it also makes them realize what a very special celebrant you are. I am not at all surprised that other members in the family call on you when the need arises.
