Customer Relationships and Gifts to Excite you!

Postby Barbara Gabogrecan » Tue Nov 08, 2011 12:21 pm

These are very special Posts where many different experts (our members) will share with you how they look after their customers. At the same time they will promote special offers that they have for Christmas. These offers may be product, services, events etc. This could be a haven for those wanting to purchase quality, unique and special gifts or for those wanting to let members know about the products they have available. Let me get the ball rolling:-

Merry Christmas Cards

Image

It sounds a bit ‘over the top’ to say ‘treat your customers like family or friends’ but in a way, but that is what I try to do. My Gran used to often say ‘treat others as you want to be treated’ and I try to follow that philosophy.

I know I love receiving cards, but when I get cheap Christmas cards I find it difficult to remember that it is the ‘thought that counts’ particularly when the designs can be so awful. As a visual person and an artist, I am very conscious of the effect of colour, shape and general design. I wanted to produce a card that had a degree of uniqueness and would not only make people smile, but would encourage them to keep the card and look at it often. Each time they did that, they remembered me.

So I designed a set of 5 Merry Christmas Cards with images of my dogs, Cameo and Cooper (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels). I also had anover 30 designs made into Swap Cards for Kids.

Special Offer
* Every set of cards include a free set of Swap cards (they make great stocking fillers).
* The cards can be ordered online and there is no postage to pay.
* Also a percentage of all sales are donated to charity for ill children and unloved pets.

You can see the designs and purchase a set of cards at http://www.buymerrychristmascards.com/

How Popular are these Cards?
“These Cards are so cute – absolutely gorgeous.I love the images and I love the text.My friends think they are so ‘spiffy’!” Jason Haller

“The cards were purchased online and they are even better than what I expected – thank you Cooper for sharing your cuteness with me and my friends” Harry Cheung

“How can anyone resist these photos? I am not a wacky dog lover, but I do believe that these cards will please everyone….my friends are in for a surprise this year” Joan Saunder

“I am always looking for something different. I don’t send out a lot of cards at Christmas time, consequently I put a lot of thought into choosing special ones for those I do send cards to. The Cooper range is just what I was looking for – a cute image with fun text.” Peter Passmore

“As well as sending out these wonderful little cards to my special friends, I am also including the web link to his 45 second video – boy, how the kids are going to love that!” Eileen Jolie

Online Freebies Rock the Sox off Clients!

Image

In my last post I told you about how I like to think and treat my clients as though they are ‘family’ or ‘friends’. In this post I wanted to let you know that one of the best Attraction Marketing systems I have discovered is to offer online freebies to clients. Not only do freebies make clients feel ‘special’ they also gain trust from potential clients. Online freebies also have the advantage of usually being of 'no cost' for you to produce.

Sometimes you simply have to share knowledge, like pointing out a great tool or a good way to make extra money or a unique way to market their business. Send Out Cards does all of this for me and I would like to share the experience with you. These cards are a unique way of combining the Internet with traditional methods.

Saving Time and Money When Sending Out Cards
For quality personalised cards that you can order online (from hundreds of preset designs or using your own images) and have them printed and posted for you, for around $1 a card; this is a ‘dream come true’ for me.

Traditional Costs
The last time I sent out 200 unique cards, I had to have a photographer take special photos (to give me unique images) Cost $80; I had to have the art work put together by a graphic designer Cost: $65; I had to have the cards printed Cost: $200. Then I printed a personalised message on my own computer Cost: $50; and had a lass put the 200 envelopes together, print off labels and stick them on Cost: $81; and finally put stamps on and mail them Cost: $120. How much did that cost all together?
Total Cost $596 !!
Time Taken: 20 hours

Send Out cards Cost
By changing across to Send Out Cards, I still had to have the photographer to produce the unique images Cost:$80 but then all I had to pay was 93c per card plus postage $120;
Total cost for 200 cards $320
Time taken: half an hour!

Saving Time
Send Out Cards is a great ‘time saver’ if you want to send a number of cards with the same message, as all you have to do is set up the message and put the names in the data base and with one click of a button they all get printed and sent for you! It also saves you the time of shopping around for the card design you like, then having to write on it, put it in an envelope, put a stamp on it and taking it to the Post Office (imagine the time to do 200 cards!). Another fantastic benefit is that even though you are designing unique cards, there is no limit to the numbers to be produced. You can send out one card and it is still printed and distributed for 92C plus postage!

Personalisation
Personalisation available to you includes your own signature and your own hand writing as a font, plus your own photos, which can be of the person you are sending the card to.

Making a Customer feel Special
When you add their photo to your card it can certainly make your client (friend or relative) feel special. A business associate had a baby and sent me a photo of her. I sent her a congratulations Send Out Card and included the photo of the baby. I received this message:

“Thank you for the beautiful card …… it was such a lovely surprise. We just love the card, it is gorgeous and will be treasured. I was so surprised to find Allegra's cute little face in it! We will keep it in her baby album as I am sure she will love looking at it when she is a bit older. “
Mandy

Special Offers
1) All readers of this post can go to https://www.sendoutcards.com/gabo/ and send a card for free, or contact me and I will phone you and talk you through the process while we are at our computers.
2) All HBBA members receive three of these cards for free. Just let me know when you are ready to send them and I will show you how!

Thanks for this opportunity Barbara.

I want to share with everyone a gift that is truly Australian. And that's giving a gift with an Australian image on it. It might be a framed print,a canvas print, a mug, a bag, calendar, greeting cards, postcards, posters or something else.

What kind of things do I photograph? wildlife, birdlife, landscapes, waterscapes, sunrises and sunsets. Mainly in the Dandenong Ranges region but that also includes Lysterfield which is very close by.

Image

Great gifts for people who might appreciate something Australian - whether they're local or perhaps overseas.

I've been developing a photography business over this past year and was fortunate to be selected as a winner for the Bendigo Bank 2011 Calendar late last year, which sparked a little media interest here in the hills and that led to some photography jobs, an exhibition and now I frequent the local markets to sell my framed and canvas prints and other items with photos on them.

So, if you are looking for something with an Australian flavour, please visit my website at http://dandenong-ranges-photography.com.au/shop/.

Special offer: If you mention you saw this post here I will organise 25% off any item above $20 ordered before Christmas.

See a photo you like but can't see a product? Just ask!

Kathie - I love your product. May I suggest that you make a different post for a couple of them e.g. Bag and playing cards? It may grab the attention of those who can't think just what the product may be or what it looks like. Thanks for your comment re the video clip of Cooper - he is a real ham - he loves the camera and loves to perform! I was surprised what we could get into 45 seconds! By placing it on this webpage, we have had lots of viewers to it. http://www.buymerrychristmascards.com/

Thanks Barb. I had thought they might visit the website however I'll expand more here. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have begun stocking a number of items with images from the Dandenong Ranges on them. One of them are leather handbags. This particular one has Tawny Frogmouth babies on it and retails for $35.00 but I will offer a discount to anyone who visits this board - they just need to let me know when contacting me to place an order.

About the bags:

Measures 16(L) x 4.5(W) x 10.5(H)
Made from 100% genuine leather (available in black or brown)
Double leather straps measuring approximately 21in length
Image printed on polyester using dye sublimation process to prevent crack, peel or discoloring.
Zippered top closure.
Nylon interior features a main compartment, cell phone holder, accessories chamber and zippered hidden section.

Aren't the birds cute? I can, however organise bags with other photos on them - just haven't got them up on the site yet.

Unique Hand Painted Scarves

Image

Some people shop for Christmas gifts, looking for real bargains; others want unique gifts and all want good value for their money. If you want a gift for a female loved one or a special client or supplier, then I can assure you that these hand painted silk scarves will ‘fit the bill’.

They are beautiful, colourful and well priced. I was fortunate enough to win 7 of the Australian Gift of the Year Awards with my designs and had over a dozen large manufacturers license my designs for their product (e.g. Shelta Umbrellas, Fresca Scarves and Laurentino bags).

Even though I was targeting the Tourist Market, I was surprised when a number of corporate organisations approached me as they wanted the scarves to give as corporate gifts to staff performing well, to clients and to important business visitors (often from overseas). Usually when you are targeting different markets, you have to treat your customers differently. But I found that the product was so unique and the presentation so good, that customers were always satisfied. I didn't even have to ask them for testimonials - they just sent them!

Now I only paint to order. As every item is individually hand painted it does mean that there is a time limit (usually three weeks) before an order is completed. By offering a limited number of designs via my website, I constantly get orders. I actually received three orders while in hospital following my stroke and brain surgery. They were told of my changed circumstances and offered their money back. However all said they would wait.

It was a real milestone for me to be able to complete these orders and to receive glowing reports by the recipients….I had not lost my ability to paint!
So I have a special offer for this Christmas. As I cannot reduce costs for wholesale or large numbers (as every scarf takes the same amount of time to produce) I have added some special offers for all orders.

See designs available and order from here: http://gabo.solutionsatworknow.com/christmas-special-offer.php

Special Offer
Order any two scarves (30cm x 150cm) with an Australiana design motif
FREE one ‘kerchief’ scarf (45cm square)
FREE gift wrap & tags
FREE one set of 5 Swap Cards that make great stocking fillers for the kids.

Note: As each scarf is individually hand painted, do not leave it too late to order. Hand crafted items do take some time to complete. This also means that no two scarves are identical as both the drawing and colour varies according to the artist’s touch, making your scarf truly unique.

Note: Each scarf is packaged in a cello bag inside a black folder. Information about the artist is included and makes interesting reading.

Note: The kerchief scarf is suitable to wear around the neck as a V shape; tucked into a pocket on a jacket; or tied to the strap of a bag. It will be painted with the same design as one from your scarf order.

Note: You may order single scarves from the range offered. You can also order more swap cards if you wish. The designs are based on the sweetest little dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels) and a Rag Doll

Here is a story of great customer service:

The story is about a visit to an auto-store to purchase new windscreen wiper blades. The sales person not only came out to my car to see that they were the right fit, but because I was a little uncertain on how to install them, he actually fitted them for me. (It took 2 minutes or so.) Admittedly they were not busy, but I would have never thought of asking them - they volunteered. This was not a high price purchase, but do you think I would go back again? In fact I will tell you the name of the store, because I think excellent customer service should be acknowledged. It was Auto-Barn. So if you need something to be fixed on your car and you want to go somewhere where they won't treat non-petrolheads as idiots, I highly recommend them.

Often, it is the little things that can make a huge difference to your customers. Attention to detail, staff being encouraged to go that little bit further are what people remember.

Now here is my special offer:

It was very popular last years so I will offer it again. It is my best selling small business book; The Five Pillars of Guaranteed Business Success.
Image
A Small Business Christmas Gift You WILL Read

How many gifts will you receive this year that end up in your garage? That hideous vase from a well meaning aunt. Perhaps it will be DVD of a movie you have already seen. Or it might be a book that you will never read.

Often the best gifts are the ones we choose and pay for ourselves- although this is often regarded by others as a self indulgence. However such a gift to yourself doesn’t have to be expensive and who better to understand the value of such a gift than you?

So in the spirit of the season I wanted to think of something that subscribers would value that I might give away, and I thought of my best selling book, The Five Pillars of Guaranteed Business Success.

I am sure that if I gave this book away, I would have a massive response, but how many would read it? My experience is that when you receive a book for nothing you don’t value it and won’t read it. How many free ebooks have you downloaded to your computer’s hard drive that you have never read?

Instead I am offering readers of this forum my book at a 50% discount, just until Christmas Eve. I am doing this, rather than giving the book away because I want you to read it!

So my gift to you is a book that you will read.

When you visit The Five Pillars of Guaranteed Business Success website: http://www.fivepillarsbusinesssuccess.c ... ss_Success

enter the promo-code “XmasGift” on the Order Form (and update) to receive the discount – only available until December 24th.

May Your Business Be - As You Plan It.

I have to say I am surprised that more members have not promoted product and services in this Forum....perhaps they don't have any special deals for Christmas? tsk, tsk.
I will send out an email this week to remind everyone again - and I just have to let you know something. A member read this and passed on the link to an associate who has a lovely heritage building in East Melbourne. They are looking for a piece of art work to place in the waiting room and have a space about 2/3rds the size of a door. They have commissioned me to produce the painting and yesterday I did the design for it.

I intend sharing the 'step by step' processes as the painting develops, on video via You Tube. This is especially exciting for me as after the stroke I honestly wondered if I still 'had what it takes' to produce such a large piece of art. But the design worked so well - it seems as though my spirit has lifted and my confidence returned! I will let you know when the video is ready to be viewed. Peter is organising that today for me.
Cheers
